When I was asked to help with this activity I was initially unsure of the pedagogical worth. I love using the technology (in this case green screen video) but how much would it add to the student learning. How wrong I was! The student engagement was very high, and it was amazing to see the lyrics the students created about their energy sources. Here are some photos and video of the end result:

CW5 News CW5 is the new Grade 5 News Reporting Club. Click HERE to go to the CW5 website to see the latest episode, as well as send in a request for a keen reporting team to cover your class project, co-curric, sporting event or film an interview. There is a team of more than 40 very keen reporters waiting for the call! The next episode is due to air early April, and thereafter monthly. Matthew (a colleague from West Point Grey Academy) and I were invited through the ISABC to speak to UBC Elementary Teacher Candidates for a short drop in session during their lunch break. Talking to their Program Director it appears that they are given little technology instruction during their courses. Our presentation was well received, and next year we've been invited to present a two hour workshop.
