Following a discussion with one of our Gr3 teachers about the dryness of the Social Studies pioneer project (dry in the sense that were no dynamic Canadian websites online) we decided to try and liven up the project by using Aurasma to bring murals to life. I used photos that were taken during the field trip to Burnaby Village living museum as a backdrop, then filmed the students using a greenscreen. I uploaded the material to Aurasma Studio online. Here are a couple of videos showing the end result:
We had a Science Assembly in order to preview Science Expo next week, so I was asked to make a slideshow of Science across the grades. Here's the result: The Tech Clubs are all voluntary and drop in, so numbers can vary. Last week there were 14 students at the Grade 4 lunchtime Tech Club, doing some great programming using Repeat, but this week only 6. This was our deadline to make online animoto videos using video and photos taken by the students this term using the floor robots. The aim is to then share them with the whole school at the Science Expo Assembly. A couple of the students worked with a partner so we ended up with four robotics videos. Here they are:
