3/4DG interviewed teachers and took their picture to put in the class magazine. They changed tasks of interviewer, recorder and camera person. Who knew that Mr. D. had once been given a jolly big green bath mat shaped like a foot, or that Mrs. Middleton had actually seen Santa's boots and red pants!

This was interesting. I gave the students the same instructions as I gave to 5/6W last week. The only difference was that I showed them the 5/6W blog with the published pictures taken last week. Maybe it's a developmental issue, but the pictures taken by 3/4DG were generally not of a high standard in terms of subject. Most of the pictures were focussed on student faces - not so much creativity evident here. But the picture taking process proved useful for them. Next lesson we'll focus on producing more creative content!
This was an interesting experience for me, given that the theme was 'Go Wild' in terms of 'getting back to nature. Watches, cameras and technology was discouraged so that the students could 'live in the moment'. I acted as the official photographer, and presented a slideshow at Assembly. At least we stayed dry for most of the time - the rain didn't start until our journey home!
This came together very smoothly and quickly. This is the fifth year I've done this, and I feel that this one was the most successful. My instructions to the students were clear, and I was observed by another teacher so that she could make follow-up presentations with her class.
The students were very attentive listening to instructions, and they produced some good pictures trying out different angles and techniques (ie. using shadows). These are the pictures that they chose to publish: What beautiful weather in a gorgeous setting - a Science nature hike on Cypress Mountain. Each class had a school camera for students to take pictures.
